I first found myself on a yoga mat at uni in 2003, and the gentle discipline of my Iyengar teacher got me hooked. As an uncoordinated introvert, I hated PE at school so it was liberating to find a way of exercising that wasn't competitive, that didn't matter how 'good' I was. During my career in communications and marketing, I constantly turned to yoga, in need of an antidote to long, anxious days hunched at the computer. As my work became more stressful, yoga became a real tonic, and I would float out of class 're-booted'.
This is the feeling I want to share with others. I see yoga as a process of self-enquiry, of coming back to myself. In this way, yoga can be a tool that not only maintains and improves physical fitness but also supports mental health. I trained with Laura Gilmore at Bristol City Yoga October 2013 - July 2014 (Hatha Yoga Teacher Training 200 hour certified by Yoga Alliance UK).
