Until recently in 2011, John has been a full practicing member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) since 1998 and in other registers since 1994. John in now a proud member of the National Counselling Society (NCS). John's original training and first degree was in physics and the engineering sciences, having been a designer in electronic systems and an engineering physicist for over ten years.

John's original training and first degree was in physics and the engineering sciences, having been a designer in electronic systems and an engineering physicist for over ten years. He has had extensive experience of thriving in both the corporate and academic worlds and frequently adds these perspectives and his extensive experience to help those in similar environments right now. In late 1989 John began studying for his doctorate at Loughborough University in AI and intelligent design in mechatronics, which he attained early in March 1993.
