The Powerhouse Gym was established in 1990 by Adam and Christine Mills and quickly became recognised throughout central Scotland as a premier weights training facility for both professional athletes and social trainers alike. The fitness club has two gym areas with free weights, resistance machines and cardiovascular machines. There is also a fitness studio for various classes.
The gym boasts the patronage of many Scottish, British and World Champion athletes and is also regularly used by GP referral patients, placement students and secondary school pupils. The Powerhouse was the first gym in Scotland to offer a course leading to a Level 2 Scottish Vocational Qualification.
