The pool is open 7 days a week and is in almost constant use everyday for public swimming, swimming lessons for all ages, Swimfit and fun swims. In addition to public access many local schools use the pool plus several local clubs including the historic Tyldesley Swimming & Water Polo Club who also play water polo matches at the Pelican Centre. The pool in combination with the hall is a popular location for pool parties each weekend.
The Pelican Centre is a registered charity and is run by a dedicated team of permanent staff and volunteers. The facilities offered include full size historic swimming pool, well equipped air conditioned gym and community hall and are open to all members of the public. Part and full memberships offer great value and includes fitness classes as well as adult gym & public swimming access.
