Janet Scovell

I trained as a psychotherapist with the Minster Centre in London in the late 1980s. My training is in the Integrative orientation. When I trained, Integrative psychotherapy involved being exposed to several different psychological theories, believing that no one school had the monopoly of knowledge about the human condition.

I have had a private practise for over 20 years. The last 8 years I have been based in Shrewsbury. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship that emerges between me and the client. I aim to create a space where the client can feel safe and trust that what emerges will be held in confidence and with compassion. I take into consideration the experience of the client's external world, both past and present, and how that impacts upon their internal world of thoughts, feelings and perceptions. Together we can begin to understand and experience the effect these have had on their life and on their relationships.
