Acupuncture can help women with many of the symptoms they experience in the years around menopause, including disturbed sleep, night sweats, and hot flushes. I have found acupuncture to be very effective in reducing not only the frequency of hot flushes, but also their duration and severity. This article discusses research published in the journal Menopause, which found that acupuncture lowers the frequency and severity of hot flushes.
Hayley studied acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for three years at the International College of Oriental Medicine, receiving a BSc Hons degree in acupuncture. The College teaches Chinese Medicine from a classical perspective, which includes the Five Elements, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Stems and Branches. There is also a broad grounding in conventional (Western) medicine, enabling Hayley to approach treatment from a Chinese Medicine perspective while considering and understanding conventional diagnosis.
