I started off training with the KUGB and achieved 6th kyu, which gave me a very good grounding for basic techniques. With having a permanent back injury, I had to stop training for 4 years. I missed my training and started up again with the TBSKA, training under Nicola Edwards in St Helens.
I found that karate was helping my back because the training kept me more supple than I would have been otherwise. I moved clubs for a year and went to train at Geoff Tabern's club which I thoroughly enjoyed as he really challenged me.
