Sensei Dave has studied Shotokan and Shotokai for many years. These studies have given him an important knowledge of Karate. It has enabled him to experience first hand what the benefits and disadvantages are in both forms. All styles have this within them.

This helps to teach the basic forms, we then teach flowing forms within the technique. When the flowing forms are taught the student then is introduced to enhanced timing techniques for blocking & attacking.

A major part of our Kata training is what is known as "Bunseki" this is to analyse (break down) the Kata move for move. Learn how the energy flow works to be constant, how the body structure needs to function for maximum usage. We also learn bunkai for the moves within the Kata.
