I am a Registered Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) as well as an Accredited Psychotherapist with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I subscribe to these organisations' Ethical Principles and Codes of Professional Conduct. I have extensive experience in working face-to-face with adults (18 years plus) on an individual one-to-one basis offering short-term focused therapy and long-term in-depth therapy.
I originally worked in engineering and construction before I changed direction and worked firstly as a Youth Worker and IT tutor until in 1997 I began training as a therapist. Since being awarded my first qualification in 1998 I have continued training, achieving a number of therapy qualifications as well as gaining experience working in a variety of settings including the non-profit and voluntary sector as well as private practice. I have experience of establishing, coordinating and managing counselling services as well as recruiting staff and delivering training events.
