The Wallington Osteopathic practice represents the continuum of Osteopathic healthcare in the area for over 35 years. The traditional, classical treatments given by the practitioners are based upon the principals of osteopathy that go back over one hundred years, but that have been refined to embrace the expectations and practice that is modern healthcare.
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment that lays its main emphasis on the structural integrity of the body. It is distinctive in the fact that it recognises that much of the pain and disability we suffer from stems from abnormalities in the function and mobility of the body.
Osteopaths work with their hands, using a wide variety of techniques. These include soft tissue techniques, joint manipulation, or manipulative techniques, functional techniques and mussel energy techniques; all of which are employed to improve joint mobility. Some may employ cranial techniques, especially useful in treating babies and children.
