The difference is that a mortgage broker will normally only needs to do this once per contract. A couple of years ago it may have taken a mortgage broker four or five hours of admin work to place a mortgage with a lender. Times have changed and the amount of work, chasing up and following up now often takes mortgage brokers a lot more time.
