Qualified with National Diploma in Amenity Landscape Horticulture, Sports Turf Management and Arboriculture. Stuart also went on to win Best Practical Student for his final year at Cannington College in Somerset. Stuart first cut his teeth in horticulture working on commercial grounds maintenance contracts around South Wales for BT, working his way up in just a few months to become a team leader, before leaving to return to college. On finishing college, he then worked for a local landscape gardener mainly working on domestic contracts and a few commercial ones too.

11 years later, after working his way up to foreman and running the Wood Recycling Center at Fforest Farm Conservation Area, he left to work full time on his new business selling firewood and Biomass woodfuels, becoming one of Cardiff's largest fuelwood supplier. As well as running his own business, Stuart is a keen Kayaker and Canoeist, often frequenting Cardiff White Water Center.
