Cram Osteopaths began with the late Normund Cram in 1946, who whilst studying medicine became dissatisfied with orthodox approaches at that time. He was introduced to Osteopathic theory and opened the first Cram Osteopaths, in Glasgow's west end. Normund was joined in his practice in 1973 by his son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Heidi Cram, who had graduated from the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy (BCNO), now the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM).
Osteopathy is a safe, drug free and effective approach for treating pain, injury, stress and disease. At Cram Osteopaths, we aim to achieve a high level of mechanical stability in our patients to allow them to reach optimum function and health. Osteopathy works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
Treatment involves muscle and joint movement and manipulation techniques with the aim of enhancing the blood and nerve supply to tissues to alleviate pain and promote healthy recovery.
