Chiropractic is a method of adjusting all the joints of the body, with particular emphasis on the entire spinal column and pelvis. A well-aligned spine helps to maintain general health and wellbeing, by ensuring that the spinal nerves are communicating essential messages (nerve signals) between your central nervous system and the rest of the body (e.g. muscles and co-ordination) without interference. Chiropractic can be effective in relieving low back pain, and can also relieve the pain of upper neck problems, as well as may other conditions (see our FAQs). At your first consultation, as many details as possible will be taken regarding your current symptoms as well as details of your medical history. Your blood pressure may be taken as well as various other tests to determine a diagnosis for the presenting problem. These tests will help to determine how well your system and your joints are functioning. None of these tests are invasive.
