For the past 19 years the popular showman has also been adding a touch of magic to thousands of children's and family events. The Scottish Association of Magical Societies have crowned him 'Children's Entertainer of the Year' on four occasions, while he has also twice received the 'Murray Wand for Showmanship'.

Edinburgh based Ricky has also been a finalist in the U.K Children's Entertainer of the Year competition. Recognised by his fellow artists as being one of the leaders in this field, he accepted an invitation to lecture on the art of entertaining children at the world's largest magic convention. Since then he has travelled all over the country with his lecture entitled "Tricks of my Trade".
