We are an emergent architecture practice based in Sheffield and North Derbyshire with over 15 years of experience between us. We set up Thread in 2013 through a desire to keep developing our architecture. We love designing and believe design should tell a story, be legible so that anyone coming to it can understand what it is and why it is. It should be of its place through materials and form and it must be sustainable in time, energy and use.
We are two fully qualified Architects with over 15 years of experience in practice between us. We both studied Architecture at the University of Sheffield and have been working together for the last 6 years on a variety of projects from £500 garden pavilions, one off houses in the heart of the Peak District, award winning nursery schools, to £5 million special schools.
Andy is based in Bolsover, Derbsyhire. He has also worked on a number of large scale education projects. These projects often include participation and close collaboration with the schools staff and pupils, as well as larger multi-disciplinary design teams.
