The Royal Harbour Hotel

Part of the fabulous Royal Harbour Hotel, the 30 cover Empire Room restaurant is now open and serving classic British dishes in a club setting. Ramsgate is a delightful quirky 27 bedroom townhouse hotel that stands on a Georgian crescent with magnificent views of the harbour and sea. Simplicity, elegance and eccentricity go hand in hand! The three sitting rooms are wonderful with stripped floors, gorgeous armchairs, crackling fires and an honesty bar. Beautiful things abound: a roll-top desk, super art, a courtyard herb garden.

There are binoculars with which to scan the high seas (Ramsgate was home to the Commander of the Channel Fleet), an old fashioned grammophone player to play some old vinyls on, and books by the hundred for a good read. Bedrooms at the front are smaller and cosy, but have the view, those at the back are bigger and quieter. The first floor suite has a coal fire and French windows that open onto covered balconies.
