The Northern Photographer

I love capturing people and nature through the lens. Even in this modern era, there is nothing more exciting than downloading those images after a photo shoot. I work in an informal manner with an aim to capture images in a 'fly on the wall' relaxed manner, being an observer of the day or subject. Every wedding or portrait is a blank canvas and I simply allow the day to unfold through the lens. I photograph in a documentary style of reportage photography, allowing the natural beauty of the subject shine through. Photographing children is a joy for me, as they have a natural ability to relax in front of the camera and just 'be'. To capture that enthusiasm and joy that every child experiences through growing up is such a rewarding feeling. One of my favourite pastimes is to lose myself in the countryside with the natural world around me, which supplies an endless flow of inspiration to explore.
