The Nail & Beauty Lounge

Hi my name is Debra and I am the owner of The Nail and Beauty Lounge based at Queens Street, Jubilee Square in Bideford. I learnt to apply Sculpture AcrylicNails back in the 80's so you can take a guess at my age! I trained in nails before Nail Techs needed qualifications, however I have also retrained since and now hold the relevant diploma without which I could not get insurance. When I left school Beautician training was only available at private colleges but I was lucky enough to work for 'Boots The Chemist' attended their Training Centre in Londons Regent Street.

Here I was taught by all the leading Make up Houses including Max Factor, Revlon, Roc, Vichy, Mavala Nails and their own brands No7 and No 17. I then moved on to House of Frazer where I was Under Buyer for the Perfumery Department it was here that I learnt the Art of Acrylic Sculpture Nails with Louis Marcel, who were the first to provide this type of Nail Enhancement on the UK open market.
