The City Cafe

The City Cafe has been an Edinburgh institution since the mid 1980’s. As a replicated American themed diner it has withstood the test of time and has established itself as the classic, cafe bar venue in Edinburgh City Centre. Retaining all the original features and style of a mid century diner The City Cafe has been the “place to be” for decades and still attracts local and international acclaim as an ever present fixture of Edinburgh culture.

Located right off the Royal Mile, we are open from 9 am – 1 am, 7 days a week, 364 days a year (closed on Christmas) serving up burgers, all-day breakfast, shakes, coffees and teas, a wide range of international and local beers, seasonal cocktail menu, boozy milkshakes, spirits and wine. Child and dog-friendly until 10 pm every night, we also have a gluten-free menu and vegetarian options.
