The Cathedral Tithebarn Heritage

The Cathedral Tithebarn Heritage
Brecon is the Cathedral of the Diocese of Swansea and Brecon. It is the major town in the Brecon Beacons National Park, with a population of 8,000. The Cathedral is sited on a hill to the north west of the town centre, above the River Honddu and near the remains of Brecon Castle. It was founded in 1093 as a Priory by a cell of Benedictine monks from Battle Abbey. Possibly it was formerly a Celtic site of worship.

This is where the Cathedral Shop, and adjoining Pilgrims Tea Roomsand Heritage Centre are situated. The Cathedral shop is open all year round and stocks a diverse range of Christian and general gifts, books, postcards, cards and Church requisites.

Visiting the Cathedral Shop could not be easier: free parking is available at the Cathedral car-park and the Shop is situated opposite the Cathedral, and adjacent to the award-winning Pilgrims Tearooms and licenced restaurant. You can visit the Cathedral, have a bite to eat at Pilgrims and have a leisurely browse in the Cathedral Shop for souvenirs or gifts.
