The Carlton Hotel and Restaurant is situated in the main thoroughfare at Peel Place, High Street, Montrose. Considering the hotel dates back to the late 1700’s, it is in excellent condition throughout and many of the original features still remain in situ.
The hotel is now under new management from 21st September 2018. It is now being run by Gary and Ploy Mills who have taken over from Graeme and Natalie Lamb, who we wish all the best in their next venture. It has eight en-suite bedrooms and is run as a Bed and Breakfast hotel at the moment. The restaurant and bar are going to be refurbished over the next few months and will open again just into the new year.
The hotel also boasts an enclosed private car park at the rear of the premises and in addition the owners will provide free local transport as required. Our one concern is that there is no disabled access, due to the age and design of the building. The reception, restaurant and bar are all on the 1st floor and everyone needs to climb a small flight of stairs.
