The model has been teased and hinted at for the past 12 months, culminating in the True Adventure prototype on display at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in November. Since then there has been little doubt that the Africa Twin was set to make a comeback in the UK. First launched in 1988, the Africa Twin is a famous name in the motorcycle world, renowned for both its road and off-road ability. It was one of the first, or at least the most notable, adventure motorcycles on the market thanks to its all round ability.

The latest version, which follows on from the XRV750, is the CRF 1000L Africa Twin and for the first time will come with Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) - a system that has been specially developed to work off-road. It's expected to look almost identical to the True Adventure concept that was on display in Milan and draw on the manufacturer's success in the Paris-Dakar race with proper off-road ability.
