Sue Bovington Dichroic Jewellery

I design and make all my own jewellery pieces, each one is unique and no two are identical. The jewellery is made from clear, opaque, coloured and irridescent bullseye and dichroic glass. The dichroic glass is coated with layers of metal oxides, the result is beautiful colours which look almost gem like. The dichroic glass also transmits and reflects light so the finished pieces of jewellery can appear to change colour when viewed from different angles. I make the jewellery by cutting and layering pieces of glass and firing them in a kiln, and by adjusting the temperatures of the kiln can create different effects. Once the glass pieces have been fired and cooled they can be made into items of jewellery. Below you can see a selection of some of the latest designs.
