I have been a golf professional now for over 30 years, during which I have seen the approach to teaching the golf swing change beyond recognition. It is only in the last few years with the advent of sophisticated launch monitors that we have discovered that the ball flight laws indoctrinated into every golf professional are in fact completely flawed. Indeed many golf pros now refer to these old laws as the ball flight flaws.

In simple terms we all believed that the balls starting direction was influenced mostly by the swing path and its curve mostly by the club face. We now know beyond any doubt that the balls starting direction is influenced mainly by the club face and its curve by the path.

Many golf coaches are still following and teaching with the old flaws, if your current coach does not possess and teach with cameras and or a launch monitor you have very little chance of finding the root cause of your problems.
