Steve Maguire had many years work experience in various NHS and local government units caring for young offenders, before qualifying as a clinical psychologist in 1988. He has experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of offenders, having served as Senior Clinical Psychologist in Devon and Cornwall Forensic Services operated by the South West Regional Health Authority and based in regional secure units in Exeter and Bristol. This service catered for disturbed individuals under secure conditions and persons in the community under the care of the probation services. He was involved in the assessment of many individuals remanded in prison charged with particularly serious offences and has acted in an expert witness capacity to the Court on very many occasions.
