We also have outdoor visits such as the park, the woods, picnics, farms and the river to feed the ducks. The children I care for, are given opportunities to socialise with other children and to participate in many various activities, such as arts and crafts, messy play, baking and outdoor play. We participate in multicultural activities and learn about different cultures and festivals. I take into consideration the children's individual needs and for the under fives I fill in a daily diary so I can share information and photos with parents/ carers.

I track the children's development and progress using the Early Foundation Stage, this is shared with parents and can be passed on to other professionals such as nursery staff and health visitors, with written parental consent. When children in my care are between 2-3 yrs of age I am also required to do a 2 yr progress check relating to The Early Years Foundation Stage which can be kept in their red book and passed on to their health visitor.
