Having always handled fabrics as a child, I relished the opportunity to use clay, paint, textiles and constructions whilst studying for a teaching degree in Art, Craft and Design. I am a freelance artist with Arts Care Gofal Celf and I currently work part time with disadvantaged adults and undertake school and community art projects. I enjoy facilitating groups to engage in the making process.I have developed my own style of work alongside residencies and have exhibited at the Kooywood Gallery, Cardiff; The Washington Gallery, Penarth; Fountain Fine Art, Llandeilo and Art Matters, Tenby as well as other venues in West Wales.A fusion of textiles, paint, packaging, beads, recycled materials and sentimental remnants from my own and my children`s early years are used in the mixed media pieces, while “Y Gymraes / Teulu ” (Welsh Lady / Family) pieces incorporate kitchen utensils, vintage fabric and sculpted wire, reflecting the fun and frustrations of home life (I have two teenagers).
