SMS Creative Photography

We have some exciting news to share, we moved on from our lovely studio premises on Saturday 10 August 2019 at 83 Station Road East, Oxted, that we called ‘home’ since 10 February 1997. Stella, will of course, be continuing with her photo-shoots and other projects you may have in mind, so please do get in touch, we would love to hear from you.

I have always had a passion for photography, to capture real life moments and to engage with people.At the age of 16, I served a 3-year apprenticeship at Handford Photography - a photographic studio where I learnt all aspect of photography, from the aesthetics to traditional photographic skills and techniques. In 1979 I was awarded a City and Guilds qualification in photography, I freelanced for a few years before getting married and having a family.Through a lot of adversity and 3 small children to provide for I learnt to be very resourceful so I took my opportunity to realise my dream of starting my own photographic studio. This was the birth of SMS Creative Photography in 1997, which my 3 children refer to as my 4th child!I’m overjoyed to be able to connect with so many families, to be a small part of their ever changing lives - preserving precious moments for them to enjoy now and for future generations to admire - this gives me a huge sense of fulfilment and satisfaction! My creative flair, patience, ability to adapt and determination work together to deliver images that people value.
