Smallwood House

Anthony & Christine have been welcoming new guests and old friends to Smallwood House for 24 years. Our fine Victorian town house offers 12 comfortable, individually furnished bedrooms and we have been awarded 4 stars by our Visit England inspector. Our warm, comfortable guest lounge provides the perfect place to relax after a day of activities, or to gather before an evening out in Ambleside. We love to hear the laughter as guests can often be found playing games, chatting or reading from our selection of local books.

The open fire is lit throughout the winter, and occasionally when needed in the Summer! If you're celebrating or if you'd just like to treat that someone special then we'll be happy to arrange flowers and champagne for your arrival. Please let us know if you have any other special requests and we'll do our best to help. We have arranged for our guests to use the leisure facilities at the Salutation Hotel and Spa which is just a 2 minutes walk away.
