Skipton Self Drive

Founder, Peter Watson started working for himself as a mechanic in 1964, when he took ownership of Albion Garage, Skipton.In 1978 an opportunity to offer vehicles for hire arose and Peter took on a fleet of three vehicles; two Toyota Corolla's and a Ford Transit Box Van! This arm of the business was soon to be named Peter Watson Self Drive.The complete business moved to bigger premises on Otley Road, Skipton in 1987 and continued to grow.In 1994 Skipton Self Drive Limited was formed. The vehicle hire arm of the business was incorporated.20 years later, Skipton Self Drive moved from the Peter Watson (Skipton) site on Otley Road to new premises in Skipton on Carleton Business Park. The new site offered more, much needed space.In, 2017 we launched a new brand for our longer term contract hire and leasing. SSD Contract Hire & Leasing specialise in all types of car finance such as PCP, HP, Finance Lease & Outright Purchase, but in particular car leasing, van leasing, vehicle leasing and contract hire in the UK.
