Silver Studio

Andrea Jones is a Canadian-born metalsmith living and working in Hamburg, Germany. She began her training in 2009 at l'Ecole de Joaillerie de Montreal, Canada and continued over the next three years under the mentorship of three amazing goldsmiths: Megan Jones, David Swinson, and Gustavo Estrada - who have over 75 years of combined experience.

In 2012, Andrea met the love of her life and relocated to Germany. Inspired by her partner's career as a manufacturing engineer, Andrea began to look at metalsmithing in nontraditional ways. While still respecting the materials, methods, and skills associated with traditional fine jewellery making, she began exploring the possibilities of selective laser melting techniques (3D Printing).

The process produces a 3D stainless steel prototype from which a mold is made; this is converted into wax and finally cast in sterling silver or gold.
