I became a Mountain bike leader 6 years ago with the Mountain-bike Instructor Award Scheme (MIAS). This gave me the opportunity to get my friends and colleagues out on the trails and enjoy what mountain biking has to offer. Moving up through the MIAS leader awards has enabled me to take riders where they might not of ventured to without having a guide/instructor or a Pro mechanic with them. Allowing individuals to push their own personal boundaries and gain confidence is something, which I feel very proud to be a part of.
I then went on to gain my professional mechanical qualifications for my fettling skills at 'Downland Cycles', Canterbury, and from there on I haven't looked back.
