Steve & Cheryl Roberts started Holderness Mobility in Withernsea in 2009. They had recently retired after running a successful business in the Motor Trade for 23 years. They missed interaction with people and were basically bored and thought it would be a nice little business that they could run part time. They were soon joined by their son Matthew who originally was helping Steve in the workshop servicing & repairing mobility scooters.

In June 2011 however they opened a second shop in Cottingham and Matthew went there trading as Cottingham Mobility. At this point it was decided it would be easier if all the shops could trade under one name so they became Roberts Mobility.
