R Hughes Massage was established in 2014 to provide massage therapy services in Salisbury and the surrounding areas. Sports and remedial massage is a type of massage which involves applying a range of techniques to address the specific needs of the individual, whether they are an athlete (elite, amateur or recreational) or are suffering from the symptoms of everyday occupational, postural or emotional stress.
I hold full liability insurance with Balens, specialists in medical and professional insurance cover. I am also a member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage (ISRM). I have a strong interest in a variety of sports. I have always played Football to a good standard, as well as Cricket, Golf and Snowboarding. I also completed the London Marathon in 2010.
As well as having my own clients I was in charge of the medical department at Salisbury City FC for the 2013/14 season. I am also qualified in Ultrasound therapy and have completed the IFAS (Intermediate First Aid for Sport) award. I am now the head therapist at Gosport Borough FC who compete in the 2nd tier of non league Football (Conference South).
