Alan is a time served apprentice with F. Pratten & Co with qualifications up to ONC level in Carpentry and Joinery. He also cut his teeth in management with A.J Charlton & Sons. Alan's interests include rugby and coaching, being lead coach with England South West under 18's clubs and schools for the past 5 years. Alan has been actively involved with local clubs including Midsomer Norton Rugby Club and Chelwood Rotary Club.

He has now taken up Golf being a member of Farrington Gurney Golf Club and has toured recently with East Harptree Golf Club. Being a strong family man, his great love is his grandchildren. His ambitions in the future is to see the company grow with more responsibility taken by co-directors and staff.
