Initially from a technical and largely office based background I decided to do something that I was more passionate about and enrolled on a four year degree course at Writtle College, where I obtained a first class honours degree in Horticulture. This allowed me to develop both horticultural knowledge and practical experience in order that I could eventually work for myself.
The course incorporated a one year placement at the RHS Hyde Hall garden where I completed a practical course in Ornamental Horticulture obtaining further invaluable practical experience.
After leaving Writtle College I decided to start my own business, initially just two days a week whilst entertaining my love of plants working for Perrywood Nurseries in Tiptree. A year later I was working full time for myself and now carry out a combination of garden design/planting plans and general maintenance for private individuals.
