When in doubt, go neutral! When decorating small spaces and areas, where light is at a premium, choosing neutral colours can be a safe bet. Shades of grey (no pun intended ; ), brown, beige, taupe, white or cream can all be classed as neutral colours. When used in conjunction with bold soft furnishings, a room can come alive. When used with more neutral furnishing, a room can be more laid back and relaxing, an oasis of calm. Neutral colours are especially good for rental properties, and are easy to maintain / freshen up in-between tenants. Whatever kind of neutral colour scheme you use, you can be assured that no one will be offended.
