In 1985 we decided to expand the driving school to cover all Barnsley, Rotherham and Sheffield and we set up our own Driving Instructor Training Establishment to provide the demand for new instructors. Initially with just two instructor trainers we trained hundreds of driving instructors in the South Yorkshire area, most still operating today, and the instructor training courses continue with Pelican Instructor Training being highly respected within the driver training industry.

We were ORDIT (Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers) registered from the start of the register, this register gives the public confidence that the training they receive is of a high and consistent standard.
Our training establishment expanded to four top grade instructor trainers with additional qualifications such as the Diploma in Driving Instruction, a Degree in Driver Education and and two of the trainers being advanced driving examiners for Diamond Advanced Motorists.
