Parkhurst Opticians was established over 25 years ago, by Alan and Irene Parkhurst. Since the business was formed Parkhurst Opticians has expanded and now boasts 6 branches. They are located in Thorne, Mexborough, Goldthorpe, Sheffield, Bentley, and Doncaster Town Centre. Since Parkhurst Opticians was established, Alan and Irene have always adopted a hands on approach to the running and development of the company, preferring to remain a specialised family run Opticans. To date even though the day to day formalities take care of themselves Alan Parkhurst still remains very much in control. Alan also takes a very keen interest in the wider aspects of the Optical profession. In the year 2000 he was elected President of the Association of Dispensing Opticians, a post he served for 2 years. This was a very demanding role, but one I am sure he will tell you, one that was also very rewarding. Alan Parkhurst is a Dispensing and Contact Lens Optician, with interests in low vision. Parkhurst Opticians is truly a family run business, during the expansion of the company extra help was drafted in and additional professional expertise was needed. Who else would be better qualified than two sons and a daughter.
