Organic Arts

Organic Arts
We have been hosting school visits for over 10 years. We began with just 6 visits a year and now offer 150 funded visits through the stewardship scheme. The farm has incredible range of locations including an old railway cutting, newly planted orchard, stream, meadows and woodland. We have a wide experience of working with groups from nursery, through primary and secondary up to college and beyond!

With the educational charity organicARTS you have the chance to engage in wide ranging farm based learning at our West Town Farm base. You may be from a school or a community group. You can encounter the farm's inhabitants, wild and domestic. You can explore the extraordinary features, natural and human made. You can experience local food in on a journey from field to plate. You can create with natural materials produced by and at the farm.

We use both materials and inspirations from the farm. Clay from the meadow, willow from the wood and dye from plants are just some of our resources. We have weekly ceramics sessions and a series of special workshops on willow weaving, raku firing and wood carving among others. We curate exhibitions especially for Devon Open Studios. We aim to engage visitors to West Town Farm in a creative response to the farming landscape.
