Having gained extensive experience in the public and private sector, Stephen went on to spend several seasons working with Otley RUFC and Hull KR RLFC. Here he oversaw all aspects of the teams medical management and implemented several strategies with the teams to improve performance and prevent injuries. This work was developed whilst undertaking his Physiotherapy Masters degree at the University of Bradford.

A keen golfer and a member of Moortown Golf Club, Stephen has specialised in the role of physiotherapy in both treating golf related injuries and preventative rehabilitation for golfers.
He has attended specialist training in this area through the English Union of Golf based at Woodhall Spa. Stephen works very closely with all the Orthopaedic Consultants at Harrogate District Hospital. He is the clinical lead in the Lower Limb Service which involves developing and implementing orthopaedic protocols, treating complex patients and training junior colleagues.
