Golf has been played over the historic West Links course since the 17th century with the Club being formed in 1832. We continue to play over the same piece of land as they did back then. With breathtaking views of the Firth of Forth and islands of Bass Rock, Craigleith, Lamb and Fidra, as well as the town of North Berwick itself, there are few places better in the world to play golf!
The original Clubhouse was built in 1880 and has been developed over the years to satisfy the needs of the members and the growing number of visitors who visit the Club each year. Prior to 1880 there was no clubhouse facilities at all (the first ‘car park golfers' perhaps?). The original clubhouse was single story building and housed the lockers of the Members at the time.
This is now our formal Dining Room and features the original lockers, our Past Captains pictures and main honours boards. You are welcome to browse around the room, subject to use. The Clubhouse was refurbished in 2008 and presents the perfect environment for pre and post, refreshment and reflection on your game.
