Nigel Bird Photography

With my photography I have two sides. On one side I shoot portraits the other side is more unposed candid moments of life on the street.

In my portrait work I mainly focus on capturing images of Actors, Authors, Artists, Musicians, Business Leaders, Chefs, Singers, Models and other people that may be in the public eye. This is a continuing learning journey for me both in terms of the technical and the artistic side of photography.

I try to concentrate on making my shoots about the subject and leave the gear out of the way as much as possible. If I could shoot without a camera and get photos then I would, to me it's not about the latest cameras and lighting gear, it's about the final result, a wonderful portrait; this may be for personal use or a business, marketing type of image. I try to make the shoot more of a casual conversation than a scary photo shoot, this way it really brings out a more natural expression, both in the subject's body language and in their face.
