It recognises the importance of the link between the structure of the human body and the way it functions. Osteopathy works on the basis that many of the causes of pain and disability stem from abnormalities in the function of the body structure as well as damage caused to it by disease. Addressing these underlying imbalances allows the body to improve its normal functional capacity.
