My name is Mel Hornby. I am a practicing Medical Herbalist and I am a fully qualified member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. Herbal medicine is the oldest known form of medicine and has been used for thousands of years to treat illness and restore good health.
Herbal medicine can be safely prescribed alongside conventional medicine. Medical Herbalists are also able to issue Medical Certificates for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and Social Security purposes. As an Herbalist, I am able to treat a wide range of conditions both acute and chronic. I have been trained to take into account any health problems and / or any medication which is being prescribed and if necessary will know when to refer you to a doctor or other professional.
No two patients are alike, even if they appear to be suffering similar symptoms, so no two prescriptions are exactly the same. In treating your symptoms, I aim to rebalance and strengthen the system overall.
