Pure tribal bellydance is completely improvised. The dance consists of steps and movements that are known to all the dancers in the group, who follow a leader. Everyone gets a chance to lead, if they want to.
Sometimes tribal bellydance moves are choreographed into a dance. This type of dance is known as tribal fusion.
