Matt has always been interested in caring for others, and after receiving training in counselling during his first degree and having seen the results that members of his family experienced after having acupuncture treatment themselves his general interest in oriental culture made him decide that he wanted go further and train as an acupuncturist.
Since then Matt has successfully completed degree level training as an acupuncturist at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading. During this time he has studied the various aspects of both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element acupuncture. He has since moved to Staffordshire and has been actively treating patients in his own practice. Acupuncture is a form of treatment that has been used in China for thousands of years to keep people in good health. Acupuncture works on the principle that all symptoms arise due to imbalances, so the aim of the acupuncturist is to locate these imbalances and correct them through the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body. These points are selected to be of the greatest benefit to the patient depending on their individual circumstances, and continued treatment is then focussed upon strengthening the patient to prevent further imbalances from occurring.
