Matt Williamson Physiotherapy

Local business offering high quality physiotherapy to people of all ages and abilities. Matt has over 10 years experience treating everyone form the elderly to elite athletes. He has previously worked in the NHS but now focuses on working solely in the private sector. He has represented Scotland and Great Britain in endurance running. He uses a combination of hands on treatment with exercise rehabilitation to help provide individual treatment and help his patient's maximise their performance.

Matt works in Glasgow in Bearsden. He qualified as a physiotherapist with distinction from Glasgow Caledonian University. Initially, he worked part-time in private practice and part-time in the NHS focusing on musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He now works full time in private practice. His aim is to help each patient reach their individual goals and likes to ensure a hands-on approach is used in conjunction with other treatment options.

He has a wide range of experience working with everyone from the elderly to elite athletes. He will work to ensure each patient has treatment tailored to their needs, whether that is a one-off treatment or ongoing maintenance.

He has previously provided physiotherapy cover at the Scottish Institute of Sport and is currently a course tutor for Proactive Training delivering courses to undergraduate physiotherapy students. Before qualifying as a physiotherapist he completed a BSc (Hons) in Physiology and Sports Science and worked as a personal trainer.

In his spare time, Matt has a passion for the outdoors and is a competitive runner. He has previously competed in cross country, road and hill running events, but more recently has focused on ultra-distance events representing Scotland in 2011/2012 and Great Britain in 2013.
