At the age of 11 I was given my first SLR camera (A Zenit 12XP) and from the moment I developed my first black and white print in my brother's darkroom I was hooked. From then on (for the last 20 odd years) I've been working at improving my craft and ensuring I'm making the best images possible.
From the beginning I was interested in photographing people. Through school and university I was involved with imaging, and during my work outside photography I've always had my imaging brain engaged. I began shooting at the Edinburgh Photographic Society's studio in 2004 and shot my first wedding a year later.
I love interacting with people. Through my work in photography, and in my life away from the camera, I've been fortunate to have had the opportunities to develop a range of skills to engage with people. This brings a great strength to my photography. I've learned that the most important value a human being can posess is to put the person with whom you are interacting first.
